Voice-controlled scorekeeping for any physical game you play by hand.

About SayPoint

SayPoint keeps score for any physical multiplayer game — cards, dice, darts, or anything else you play by hand — using your voice. Say things like "add fifty to Lisa" or "who's winning" and SayPoint updates the score and reads it back to you, so you don't have to stop playing to keep track. Touch controls are always available too. SayPoint is a one-time purchase — no ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases.

Voice Commands

Say this What happens
"Add player Chris" Adds a new player to the game
"Add fifty to Lisa" / "Give Lisa fifty" Adds 50 points to Lisa
"Subtract twenty five from Steve" / "Take twenty five from Steve" Subtracts 25 points from Steve
"Set Chris to a hundred" Sets Chris's score directly to 100
"Set target of five hundred" / "Play until five hundred" Sets a target score — the game ends when someone reaches it
"What's the score" / "Read scores" Reads all players' current scores aloud
"Who's winning" Announces the current leader
"Undo" Reverses the last action
"Redo" Re-applies the last undone action
"Reset game" / "Clear scores" Zeroes all scores, keeps the players

Ending a game and renaming a game are done from the on-screen menu, not by voice.

Activation Modes

SayPoint offers two ways to listen, switchable any time from the control bar:

Push-to-Talk

Press and hold the mic button while you speak, then release. This is the default mode: predictable, and it won't pick up conversation you don't intend as a command.

Always-Listening

SayPoint listens continuously and acts on anything it recognizes as a command. It automatically ignores its own spoken readback, so it won't accidentally transcribe itself.

Touch controls (the +/- steppers on each player row) work identically in either mode and are always available as a fallback.

Speech Recognition and Device Compatibility

All speech recognition and speech output in SayPoint happens entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to a server. SayPoint automatically uses the best speech engine your device supports, and falls back to an older on-device engine on hardware where the newest one isn't available — voice commands still work, just with somewhat lower accuracy on older devices. SayPoint works on any device running iOS 26 or iPadOS 26; for the best voice accuracy, iPhone 12 (or newer) and comparable iPad models are recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Speech recognition, speech output, and all game data work entirely offline.

Why didn't SayPoint understand my command?

Try rephrasing using one of the exact patterns above — for example, "add fifty to Lisa" rather than "Lisa gets fifty." Background noise and unusual player names can also reduce accuracy; the touch steppers are always there as a fallback.

Can I have more than one game going at once?

Yes. SayPoint keeps an unlimited number of games, each independently paused and resumed. Your game list shows every game you've played, most recent first.

What happens to my undo history when I leave a game?

Undo and redo history is specific to your current session and clears when you leave a game (pausing it) or close the app. Your scores and player list are unaffected.

Can I score games where the lowest number wins (like darts)?

Yes. Turn on "Low Score Wins" when creating a game, and optionally set a starting score to count down from (e.g. 501 for darts).

Is my data backed up anywhere?

No. All game data is stored locally on your device only, and is not synced to iCloud or any server in this version.
